REO grants franchises to qualified persons for the operation of Real Estate One brokerage offices according to its standard franchise agreement. We are a full service real estate brokerage and have not offered or sold franchises for any other line of business.
Real Estate One is the largest real estate firm in the state of Michigan. We have been family owned and headquartered in Detroit since 1929. Through the years, REO has stayed on the cutting edge of real estate. Some of our innovations that have become common industry -wide include the MLS, Open Houses, and more. We continue to lead the way in the technological revolution with our extensive website, Info Line, and cable TV ads.
We began franchising in the state of Michigan in 1971 and offered franchises in Wisconsin from 1981 to 1985. From 1975 to 1986, the franchising activities of REO were conducted through Real Estate One Licensing Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary. Real Estate One Licensing Company was merged into REO in December 1986.
The real estate brokerage business is highly competitive and you will have to compete with many other individuals and companies who broker real estate, including many regional and national real estate brokerage firms. Our extensive advertising and name recognition can give your office a stronger presence in your marketplace.
